Mother’s Day is only a few days away, and it can be hard to know what to get the woman (or motherly figure) in your life who has given you everything. Flowers are always nice, so is a stunning piece of jewelry, or perhaps a spa voucher. Yet that is probably what you always get her for Mother’s Day. This year, especially as we continue to spend more time indoors, why not consider a home makeover? There are plenty of home improvement projects you can undertake to make Mother’s Day special this year, and they do not have to take too long, or break the bank, either. While we know most moms would be happy with a card that has some nice words written on it, go one step further this Mother’s Day with some beautiful home improvements. An easy and quick home improvement project to make Mother’s Day special is refreshing the inside of your home with some new paint. If you do not have the time to do your entire home, simply pick the rooms you all spend the most time as a family like the kitchen, living room and even your master bedroom. You can either hire a professional to do the job for you or try it yourself. It could even be a fun family project to do together, or you can simply surprise Mom with the new paint job when she gets home. Best of all, it will not cost an arm and a leg, and will give the inside of your home a wonderful lift. 

2. Add Some Flair to Your Windows with Interior Shutters 

Another lovely home improvement project that is sure to impress Moms everywhere is the installation of new window shutters. Window shutters can completely transform a room, not to mention add an extra veil of privacy and shade from the sun. While front doors of course serve a functional purpose, they can also be one of the most exciting features of a home. 4. Breathe Life Back into Your Deck 

As the weather starts to warm up, you might be thinking about having friends round for a backyard BBQ lunch or sunset drinks on the deck. Or perhaps you are having friends and family over for Mother’s Day on May 9. If you are, consider breathing life back into your outside deck for an extra special Mother’s Day. Take stock of what needs to be upgraded in the kitchen and focus on improving that in time for Mother’s Day.
