Benefits of Sliding Windows
Sliding windows typically have oversized glass panels that provide unobstructed views and lots of natural light. In addition, most sliders will allow the windows to open fully to allow for increased air ventilation. Sliders are typically available in larger sizes than casement windows and offer lower maintenance due to less moving parts.
Drawbacks of Sliding Windows
Slider windows may offer less security due to lock mechanisms being fairly simple. Some models offer enhanced lock and security options. Another point to consider, sliders may offer less energy efficiency than other styles of windows, as slider windows often do not seal as tightly.
