If you are looking for new insulation, there are several quality insulation materials on the market. The material you choose will depend on where you live, where you are installing the insulation and your budget. A few of the most common insulation materials include fiberglass (most effective when used in high density batt formulation e.g. inside stud walls); cellulose (the most effective of loose-fill insulation with a high R-value); rigid foam board (effective for basement wall insulation projects); and spray polyurethane foam (highly versatile and acts as an excellent air barrier as well as an insulator).
