One of our favorite Christmas traditions is wandering our neighbourhood and admiring the Christmas lights of our neighbours. People right across America and around the world will do exactly the same. There is nothing like a dazzling Christmas display to bring strangers together and inspire a sense of community spirit.
Christmas lights are one of the great traditions of the season. For some, it’s a sense of nostalgia as the lights awaken memories that can be shared and recreated with younger generations. For others, it’s all part of the joy that underscores the season. For all of us, lights are a gesture of Christmas cheer freely available for everyone to enjoy.
One of the great pleasures of our line of work is seeing how our customers decorate their new windows at Christmas time. It’s our experience that come December, many customers become inspired to use their new windows to create breathtaking Christmas displays. Many share their photos with us and to think we’ve played even a small part in helping their family welcome the festive season is a great thrill.
We’d like to share with you some of the most eye-catching displays we’ve spotted on our travels around Virginia and Maryland. Some are our customers, others are displays that are lighting up streets around the state. Either way, we can’t help but marvel at the effort and expense of these homeowners in spreading the joy of Christmas. You can find the Album on our Facebook page.
Often when we talk about windows, it’s to talk about energy efficiency, low emission coatings or thermal heat exchange. Christmas is a wonderful reminder that windows can be beautiful too.
Have you seen any breathtaking Christmas displays? Share your photos on our Facebook page.
On behalf of the Windows on Washington team we’d like to wish you and you families a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
