Fusion Welding
Heat Fusion Welded Main Frame and Sashes. This creates a seamless frame/sash and
totally eliminates any weak points or attachment screws.
Double Strength Glass
Each of the two panes of glass is 1/8 inch thick double strength glass. Increases
the strength, efficiency, and noise cancellation of the window.
Virgin Vinyl
100% Virgin Vinyl. The absence of any recycled material means that Virgin Vinyl
windows maintain their color and shape over the lifetime of the window.
Balance Systems
The “Constant Force” Balance System (consisting of a coiled steel band) is the most
prevalent in the replacement industry, but there are several high-end manufacturers
that utilize a revised block and tackle style system as well. Stay away from spiral
balances and ultimately your warranty is your best protection against potentially
problematic balance systems.
Weather Stripping
Proper weather stripping along moving joints will help reduce air infiltration and
improve window performance. Be wary of large amounts of superfluous weather stripping
and extra “weather seals” as they are usually indicative of a poorly designed window
trying to overcome performance shortcomings.
Interlocking Rails
Full length interlocking rails. Interlocking rails running the full width of the
window help mitigate air infiltration and increase the overall break-in security
of the window.
Lifetime Warranty
A full lifetime and transferable warranty that covers any and all components of
the window (Frame, sash, and glass).
Window Spacer
Intercept, Silicone Foam, Thermo-Plastic, EPDM Rubber, etc are all examples of low
conductivity glazing spacers. The use of low conductivity spacers increases glass
and overall window performance.
